Setting the Scene
Your home is your sanctuary, and with a little preparation, your at-home massage can be even more relaxing than a trip to the spa. Here is what our top-rated therapists recommend.
Clear the Space
Ask your therapist whether they prefer a floor mat (for traditional Thai massage) or a portable massage table (for oil and Swedish massage). Either way, you will want a clear area of at least 2 metres by 2 metres.
Temperature Matters
Bangkok heat means your therapist will appreciate a cool room. Set the air conditioner to around 25°C — warm enough that you won't feel chilled during treatment, cool enough that everyone is comfortable.
Lighting and Ambience
Dim lighting dramatically improves the relaxation experience. If you have bedside lamps or ambient lighting, use them. Your therapist will often bring a small Bluetooth speaker for gentle music.
What to Wear
For traditional Thai massage, wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing — like a light tracksuit or yoga pants. For oil massage, you will undress to your comfort level; full draping is always provided.
Before the Session
Tipping
Tips are always appreciated and go 100% to your provider. A typical tip in Bangkok is 10–15% of the service price. You can add a tip directly in the Veyya app after your session.
Enjoy your first at-home wellness experience — you may never go to a spa again.
